A Dinner Party With The Cartys : Those Cartys Know How To Party

It was a really good day. The weather was sunny and warm at 60 degrees
Our long time friends and their twin sons came for dinner and Harry Potter Scene It II.



We listened to Raising Sand/Robert Plant and Alison Krauss while we prepared.
Raising Sand is the best album of 2007 . If you haven't heard it, you must. It has a heavy sound that is perfect for autumn. T-Bone Burnett produced it and it is brilliant. Yes!

Chris made his delicious and delightful Taco Soup for the second day in a row. He served his super amazing cornbread also.
Chris is going to pop in now and give you these recipes.

Hello, followers and friends of Camille's blog. The taco soup recipe is one of the first recipes I ever downloaded and printed. It has been a hit ever since. I have made it so many times, I can do it from memory. Not that it is difficult. The recipe can be found here:

I always like to double the recipe so there are plenty of left-overs. It tastes better the next day. Also, a word of warning: If you do not tolerate spicy, hot foods well, be sure to choose the diced tomatoes with MILD chilies. Your stomach and mouth will thank you.

If you are familiar with the Scene It games you will know what I mean when I say three out of four of us made it to 'All Play To Win'. Oliver and Chris won by answering the three rounds of questions.
Oh how I love Scene It! They need an The Office Scene It, American and British version.

These winter scene dishes are one of my favorite thrift store finds. ($10 for the set of six).(Really).
I'm happy to pull them out to use for the season.

    Your Halloween fireplace mantle looks so pretty! I have holiday dishes I get out for the holiday season, too. That reminds me... I'd better go unpack them...

    I'm a big music girl, so my heart skipped a beat when I saw one of my favorite albums in your posting.

    Thanks for the recipes! My taco soup recipe is similar but uses corn instead of hominy. I will have to try that! What is hominy? :) Then I top it all with Fritos. Yummy!
