The Mountains and A Quilt

The Mountains and A Quilt

Tuesday I spent a lovely afternoon with my sister Katie.
Katie lives in Tooele Utah which is 45 miles from my house.

Kate has been painting her oak kitchen cabinets.
She has done a beautiful job and this is her first painting project.
I teased her about choosing such a difficult first project and Kate answered, "Every paint project will seem easy after this"!
I love my sister!

A photo of Kate's plates and platters.
Mostly donated by me.

The next few photos were taken in Kate's neighborhood.

Utah has many awesomely beautiful mountain ranges.

This is my mountain outside my kitchen window.
It was pink tipped tonight.

I have been working on this quilt for the past three days.
Today I tied it.

I can't remember where I picked up this metal embosser but it is a useful item.
It's a great paper weight, bookend and weapon (if necessary).

It also stamps a cool Fleur-de-lis.

Much of the fabric I used for the quilt came from my sweet friend Renee.
Renee writes an inspiring blog at http://heirloomseasons.blogspot.com/

Happy weekend!

  5. Love how the kitchen turned out! And I am so envious of your finds! What a neat embosser & those plates are to die for! Where do you find most of them? At DI or at various thrift stores/antique stores? Also, do you make a Christmas banner? I saw your moms halloween one and I love it! Have you done a tutorial on how to make one or do you sell them? I'm interested! :)

Hope your Holiday Season is a warm, bright one!
